No, not that Akin

It’s hard to believe that there are people who still think like this. Harder still that he’s a six-term senator. But this woman is working very hard to change that.

“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down,” Akin said of a rape victim’s chances of becoming pregnant.

Wouldn’t it be great if the abortion debate was dominated by women? You know, the gender who can actually get pregnant as opposed to, predominantly, ignorant conservative males?

And this is just one of the reasons why Obama will win in November:

  1. Joe says:

Fred Phelps (Westboro Baptist Church) is a registered Democrat. Five times he has run in Democratic primaries. And yet, I have never heard anyone claim that his views are representative of the Democratic party as a whole.

But this idiot Todd Akin says something idiotic, and lo and behold, he is representative of all Republicans and all conservatives.

    Isn’t that interesting and convenient?

Oh, and how’s that job picture in the U.S. shaping up? Still bad? Real bad? Oh.

I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that the voters in states like Ohio and Pennsylvania are going to fall for it this time.

Phelps is further to the right than Attila the Hun. His being a registered Democrat is strategic, not an endorsement of liberal principles.

      • Joe says:

Really? How do you know this? Seems like an awfully convenient conclusion.

Perhaps Todd Akin’s being a Republican is more a strategic move than an endorsement of conservative principles. But if that were true, it would interfere with your official marching orders to demonize the entire GOP.

Men shouldn’t be making health care decisions on behalf of women. Okay. But under Obamacare, everyone, including women, is forced to buy insurance. Obama’s a man. Buying insurance is a health care decision. Oops.
